Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to commonly asked questions here.
Do you work with beginners?
Yes, Ani’s Voice Studio works with students of all levels from beginner to advanced professional. Remember, no matter how far along you are as a singer, there is always something new to learn.
What styles of music do you teach?
We teach all styles of music except Opera.
What ages do you teach?
We teach students from aged 6 years old and above for vocals. 4 years old and above for piano. We have years of experience teaching students of all ages, including children.
who have you taught?
In our 18 years we have taught… almost every type of singer. All styles, ages, and backgrounds. If you are asking if we teach people you may know, then yes, we have them too.
The current client list consists of vocalists who have appeared on American Idol, The Voice, Britain’s Got Talent, Germany’s Next Top Model as well as other national and international TV shows, musicals and plays and movies. Others are active, touring, professional performers. That said, we pride ourselves on the quality of service provided to all of our students. And, whether you believe it or not, with practice and the right help, you may become just as good.
Can you help with performance anxiety and stage presence?
Absolutely! In addition to instruction on the topic in our private sessions, we conduct regular workshops and challenges that serve as opportunities to learn new tools and to put those tools into practice via live performances in a supportive environment surrounded by your fearless singing peers.
Do you offer opportunities for performances or recitals?
Yes! In fact, if you click the “Events” tab above you can find a listing of upcoming performance opportunities and workshops. The calendar is updated regularly.
What is the expected time commitment outside of lessons (Practice time)?
We recommend committing to a minimum of 2 hours a week to vocal practice outside of lessons. This will help the singer to cement the learning of new techniques through repetition. However, if this is not possible for you no worries, regular vocal coaching sessions alone can still help you improve drastically.
How do you structure your lessons?
Lessons are done at least once weekly for 60 minutes. Shorter or longer duration lessons may be possible in rare, specific instances. Lessons may be done in person at the studio or online via Zoom, whichever you prefer.
What if I cannot make it to a lesson?
No problem. We just ask that notification be given no less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson. Notifications given within less than 24 hours of a lesson will be treated as a paid cancellation on the part of the student. This will result in the loss of a lesson in your package. Exceptions in the event of extraordinary unforeseen circumstances may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Any review and reversal of this policy is done at the sole discretion of Ani’s Voice Studio LLC.
how do you track and measure progress?
During the first lesson we will identify where you are and create a plan to tackle improvement areas. At the conclusion of that lesson we create a file for the student which includes a vocalist evaluation, student goals and a lesson plan designed to just for them. Progress is tracked weekly, notes taken, progress documented and action steps for future lessons is also added. This approach ensures that you are growing every week, getting closer and closer to your vocal performance goals.

What is your teaching philosophy?
We believe in teaching in a holistic manner that fosters the growth of both the voice and the mind. We call this The Whole Singer Approach. The whole singer understands that it is not enough just to hit the right notes; the singer must make the audience feel the vocals as well.
Also, there is no point in taking vocal lessons if you have stage fright or if you hate your voice right? Unless, we can address these issues too.
At Ani’s Voice Studio we believe in coaching the whole singer, teaching useful vocal techniques while also teaching the singer how to connect with the music so that they may better connect with a crowd. We teach you how to face and overcome fear when performing live and we also address any confidence issues with your voice.
By working with the whole person in mind, addressing vocal needs, as well as mental ones, we setup singers for success by teaching the fundamentals and building up our singers’ confidence so that they can show the world what they are learning on a real stage.
How do you address specific vocal challenges or issues?
First, we will evaluate your level, identify your issues and make a specific plan to address your unique needs. We address specific issues with specific, targeted vocal coaching plans with steps and timelines custom-made to fit your unique situation.
